4 Ways to Wear a Scarf
Scarves are a versatile women’s fashion accessory. Scarves not only keep us warm, in winter, they also add a splash of color to any outfit and can actually be worn as articles of clothing. Here are four ways you can wear a scarf, to accent your outfit or enhance your look.
Head: The Kelly Wrap
Fold a large square scarf, diagonally, to make a triangle. Put the triangle on your head with the fold-side forward. Cross the ends of the scarf under your chin then pull them behind your neck. Tie the ends around the back of your neck and the point end of the scarf.
Torso: Scarf Halter
Tie a small knot in the center of an extra large square scarf. Flip the scarf over and fold it, diagonally, to make a triangle. The knot should be hidden inside the fold. Wrap the fold-side of the triangle around your waist and tie the points behind your back -- let the point end hang toward the floor. Pull the point end up over your chest and pull one point over each shoulder, tying it being your neck.
Hips: Scarf Skirt
Fold an extra large square scarf, diagonally, to make a triangle. If desired, fold one inch of the fold side over to make a “belt”. Wrap fold-side of the triangle around your waist and tie the ends together. The skirt looks best at the side but can be tied in any position.
Accessory: Neck Wrap
Fold a large rectangular scarf length-wise, into an “S” fold. Place the center of the scarf at the front of your neck and wrap the ends around to the front of your neck, then cross them around to the back. Tie the ends and tuck them into the back of your blouse.
