Easy Eye-Shadow in 5 steps

Easy Eye-Shadow

Knowing how to apply eye-shadow is not an easy task, but with these basic cosmetic tips you can have stunning make-up that will make draw attention to your eyes. The first thing is knowing how to apply eye-shadow on the different parts of your eye to get the most out of your features.

1. Highlight Eye-Shadow. After you have applied a base coat of foundation, brush this eye-shadow on. Brush it on just underneath the brow bone or over the entire lid, whichever you prefer. This will instantly brighten your eyes.

2. Complementary Eye-Shadow. This shadow should be applied on the inner corner of the eye-lid, the part closest to your nose. If you use a dark colored eye-shadow, it will make your eyes appear closer; if you use a light colored powder the opposite will occur.

3. Base Eye-Shadow. Use the lightest of the colors in your make-up palette and brush it on uniformly across the entire eyelid and up to the crease.

4. Contour Eye-Shadow. This is usually a darker shadow than the base eye-shadow and its purpose is to give your eye a little character. Start halfway at the crease above your eye-lid and extend the color to the outer corner of your eye. Remember not to overextend and blend the color toward the inside of your lid.

5. Accente Aye-Shadow: This is the darkest color in your shadow palette. You should apply it in a backwards C motion at the outermost corner of your lid. Once you’ve done this be sure to blend so the colors transition uniformly across your eye-lid.

Since the possibilities when it comes to women’s eye cosmetics, these pointers on how to apply eye-shadow are only the tip of the iceberg. Once you have mastered them you can let your imagine lose and try new, creative forms of applying eye-shadow.
