Take Your Measurements in 8 Simple Steps

It is pointless to think you can save time by buying women’s clothing online or from a catalog, if once you get the garment; you have to return it because it does not fit you. To prevent this from happening, knowing how to take measure yourself for clothes is an indispensable tool.
Have a friend help you to make sure you’re not guessing numbers. Grasp the measuring tape firmly and securely, but don’t tighten it too much, and follow these steps to take measurements in the following places:
1. Place the measuring tape at the center of your neck (where your adam’s apple would be if you were a man) and extend it to your waist (your belly button).
2. Measure across your chest, just below the top of your armpits.
3. Measure the width of your shoulders. Keep the measuring tape a shoulder-blade height and extend it from shoulder to shoulder.
4. Have your friend wrap the measuring tape around the fullest part of your chest. Then drop your arms.
5. Do the same just below your bust-line to measure your rib cage.
6. Bend to the side to find your natural waistline, the part where your obliques crease, and measure the circumference at this point.
7. Wrap the measuring tape around the widest part of your hips.
8. Finally, make sure you are bare-foot and measure your in-seam. Begin at the top of the inseam in between your thighs and measure to the floor.
Once you have your measurements, pay attention to the size the website or catalog gives you. It does not matter if the measurements correspond to a bigger or a smaller size than what you are normally used to. Trust your measurements and buy that size.
Lastly, never buy from websites that do not provide enough size information about the clothes they sell. Just in case you decide to return a garment, make sure you won’t have to pay for the return shipping as well.
With these easy pointers you can feel free to buy any online clothing your heart desires!
